Dr. Becky Chenbaixue Yang, DMA, is a faculty clinician at Brandnew Consulting Group—Phoenix. A pianist, educator, and researcher, she integrates performance practice with evidence-based pedagogy and cross-cultural inquiry, guiding students through repertoire curation, studio fit, and admissible portfolio preparation. Her work emphasizes clear assessment, individualized learning plans, and coordinated service delivery across counseling, instruction, and audition preparation.
Dr. Yang holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Arizona State University. She has taught at Arizona State University and Arizona School for the Arts, mentored prize-winning students, and co-chaired statewide honors recitals under ASMTA. Her academic and artistic focus includes Chinese contemporary piano repertoire, music education, and cross-cultural communication. An active contributor to MTNA and ASMTA, she has published in English and Chinese outlets, delivered public lectures, and led recording projects featuring Chinese composers—among them Zhang Zhao. Her award-winning work has received recognition from MTNA and has been featured in Lifeweek magazine.
Alongside performance and pedagogy, Dr. Yang is developing interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of music technology, media arts, A&R/content production, and community outreach. She views music as a conduit for cultural dialogue and global connectedness and works to realize that vision through teaching, research, and artist-facing initiatives that connect students to contemporary practice and international platforms.
